  • Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia (German: Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren), a partially-annexed territory of Nazi Germany that was established on 16 March 1939 after the German occupation of the Czech lands, 1942.
  • Karl Hermann Frank (24 January 1898 – 22 May 1946) was a prominent Sudeten German Nazi official in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia prior to and during World War II. Attaining the rank of SS-Obergruppenführer, he was in command of the Nazi police apparatus in the Protectorate, including the Gestapo, the SD, and the Kripo. After the war, Frank was tried, convicted and executed by hanging for his role in organizing the massacres of the people of the Czech villages of Lidice and Ležáky.

  • Karl Frank married physician Karola Blaschek/Karol Blaschkeová/Karol Franková 1913– 1982?) in 1940. After the war, Blaschek was held a prisoner by the Soviets until 1956 and their three children grew up in care homes.
